BROAD COLOUR SPACE

Many standards have been set governing the minimum
colour requirements for displays, the most notable
being the ‘RGB colour space’ model. This RGB
standard has worked well for years, but the advent of
high definition has required a new, improved standard.
The new standard is the ‘xvYCC - Broad Colour Space’
model and its adoption is possible thanks to the
introduction of HDMI™ connectivity.
This new standard removes any limitations on the
colours that can be rendered, with up to 1.8 times
more colours possible than with the old RGB model.
The use of ‘xvYCC Broad Colour Space’ allows the
REGZA ZF series to display colours more accurately,
for the most vivid, colourful and natural images ever
seen on a television screen.

ENHANCED DETAIL

Good picture detail depends on the right balance between
brightness and contrast. Common to all REGZA models,
the 46zf355d features DynamicContrast technology;
automatically adjusting the LCDbacklight depending on
the level of brightness in the original signal.
It decreases backlight brightness in dark scenes to
render black more appealingly and increases
brightness in brighter scenes to render images that are
well detailed, vibrant and colourful in any room lighting
conditions.

STANDARD TV UP-SCALING

Standard definition images are improved with active
internal scaling performed by all ZF series models. It will
output standard definition at near high definition quality
with pixel estimation increasing the picture information
up to 6 times. The same is true for DVD, up-scaled to
near HD DVD quality, but without the interactivity of
course.

POWERFUL AUDIO PERFORMANCE

The REGZA ZF series delivers an audio performance
as impressive as the image quality, thanks in part to
SRS WOW® audio technology. SRS WOW® combines
class-leading technologies to improve the dynamic
performance of compressed digital audio content,
expanding the size of the stereo image to huge
proportions compared to the physical size of the actual
speakers doing the work.
Usefully the position of the 46ZF355 virtual sound field is lifted to
ear level, the optimal speaker position and bass
performance is improved. The sound stage is altered to
remove spatial clues the brain relies on to inform it as to
the direction a sound is coming from. This has the
effect of fooling the brain into believing sounds are all
around you, not just in front.
The overall effect is one of a truly powerful audio
performance that puts you very much at the heart of
the action – don’t say we didn’t warn you.

ONKYO® SPEAKERS

The 46ZF355D audio technology delivering superb cinema-like
surround sound would be useless if it were not
complemented by high quality speakers able to
perform on the big stage. To make sure the REGZA ZF
series hits the right notes every time, we turned to
Onkyo®, one of the world’s leading speaker
manufacturers.
The large Onkyo® speakers have separate mid-bass
and high frequency drive units and are fitted behind the
LCD panel in specially designed chambers that
increase audio performance. Bass frequencies roll
around the chamber to help project a threedimensional
aspect to audio performance and sound
also exits the back of the television to help create a far
wider sound stage.
These speakers improve the reproduction of bass
frequencies, without effecting higher frequencies,
making dialogue more natural and adding clarity and
detail to even the most complicated special effects
soundtrack.
